About This Spot

Bay Parkway Cafe unfolds like a welcoming nook tucked into the rhythm of Brooklyn’s Bay Parkway neighborhood. From the moment you step inside, there’s an easygoing warmth in the air—the kind that gently slows the pace of the city outside and invites you into a space where food feels like a shared moment rather than a hurried meal. The atmosphere hums quietly with friendly chatter, the sounds of bustling kitchen life, and soft hints of tradition carried through its Cantonese roots.

This is the kind of place where tables turn over steadily but never rushed, a spot locals seek out for both weekday dinners and special family gatherings. Its charm is found in those human moments: attentive staff exchanging smiles, the occasional burst of laughter, and the comforting sense that you’re part of an ongoing story that blends everyday life with culinary craft.

On the table, the flavors are honest and inviting, echoing the kind of Cantonese fare that feels both familiar and alive—robust, layered, and thoughtfully prepared. Dishes arrive poised between home-style heartiness and the skillful touches that elevate each bite, whether it’s the crisp promise of roast pork or a fragrant, savory noodle dish enlivened with fresh seafood. Portions are generous, embracing the notion that a meal here is about fullness of both plate and spirit.

Bay Parkway Cafe stands as a neighborhood haven where traditional Cantonese cooking lives alongside the casual grace of Brooklyn’s diverse dining scene. It’s less about flash and more about the careful rhythms of flavor, connection, and shared experience—qualities that keep people coming back, time and time again.

Came here for my grandma's birthday and the food was good. The staffs are friendly and nice also pretty funny. Usually it doesn't get busy until 8pm so if you don't like it packed go eat earlier. Overall good restaurant and will be returning soon.

Very nice restaurant with good service. We order the duck was so tender and juicy.

Very enjoyable restaurant. Authentic Chinese dishes and prices are fantastic. If your in the mood for authentic Cantonese style dishes this is a great place to try.

I moved away from NY but I still crave the salt and pepper soft-shelled crab every so often. So blessed to come back and have it again today. Nice big portions and the crab and "saltwater" chicken were very fresh. The congee also surprised us because it was huge! Lots of pork and century egg. 100% recommended.

Came here for a late lunch along with my infant son. Left impressed with the food and the value of their lunch portions. The salt and pepper pork and fish casserole dish were my favorites here. The staff were accommodating and took time from their own lunch break to serve us. The only downside is that this place is quite far from where I live.
